| Saichen Brigade organizes 15- day educational tour for Ladakh children | | | JAMMU AUG-28- Saichen Brigade, located at the final frontier and the highest ever war zone in the world, organized a 15-day educational –cum- motivational tour of school children of the cold desert region Ladakh to Chandigarh, Delhi and Agra. The tour flagged off from Nobra culminated last evening. A group of 28 children comprising 14 boys and equal number of girls hailing from villages spread over 150 Kms formed part of this tour. During the tour, the children visited Rashtrapati Bhavan , India Gate, Jama Masjid and Qutab Minar in Delhi, took ride on metro rail and witnessed the historic address of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Independence Day. The team also visited the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Akbar’s tomb and Fatehpur Sikiri and at Chandigrah they visited several gardens including Rose, Rock and Pinjore besides, visiting Punjab University. This gesture of the Saichen Brigade is a major step in exposing the children of the remote region of Ladakh to the outside world and ignite their minds to aspire for all the progress and prosperity as seen by them during the tour. Such tours would also go a long way in strengthening the national integration.
