| Kandi welfare forum holds procession | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 16 A procession and a rally was organized by the Kandi welfare forum of Kathau tehsil under the presidentship of Prem Singh at Village Dilwan to highlight the burning problems and in protest against the present Congress and PDP coalition government for neglecting the Kandi area from its due share of funds in its development. As per press release, Kashmira Singh, Ex. MLC Sr. leader of National Conference was the chief guest on the occasion while addressing the gathering strongly condemned the coalition government for taking more interest in introducing the Pakistan agenda of Joint Currency and control over the J&K state and in organizing the melas and fairs that in the welfare of the backward hilly and kandi areas. The state government has no will or strategy to counter the poverty, rising prices of the essential commodities, road, health care centres, School and unemployment. He also condemned the government for depriving the lakhs of rural youths in recruitment for the posts of class IV and daily wagers by raising their minimum qualification to metric instead of 8th class. He also assured the people of Kandi area for giving a special package for the upliftment of the kandi area. Ajit Sharma, president National Conference, Kathua district was the guest of honour. |
