Jammu | Apr 16
A team of Jammu Municipal Corporation Councilors accompanied Sanjay Mahey, Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee, during his inspection of ward NO 62, 63 and 64.
The people and the councilors of respective wards expressed their dissatisfaction over the poor sanitation conditions in these wards and complained of shortage of safaikaramcharies in these areas.
The team during their visit found the nallah flowing through Roop Nagar and Durga Nagar totally chocked and directed the transport officer to immediately get the garbage removed from the nallah.
The chairman also issued on the spot orders to the health officer to send for the contractor and serve a warning upon him to abide by all the terms and conditions as mentioned in the agreement. Any lapse shall be viewed seriously and if the contractor is found ignoring the directions the JMC may be forced to go re-tendering of the contract, he said.
