Department of Urdu made a winning start in a walkovers dominated opening day of the Volleyball tournament in the Inter-Department Competitions of University of Jammu at University courts, here today.
In the two scheduled matches, Department of Sociology and Department of Law got walkovers after the opponent sides failed to turn up.
However, in the third match of the day, Urdu Department managed a victory over Department of Engilsh beating latter 2-1. Kamal Bhat displayed good spike work from Urdu Department on both attack and defence fronts. The score: 25-15, 25-27, 25-8.
The only match played today was officiated by Mulkh Raj, Madhuri Jamwal and Rajan Tah.
The tournament is being conducted by Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu under the guidance of incharge Physical Training Instructor (PTI) Campus, Ramesh Sharma. |
