The Panthers Party has urged Governor,S.K.Sinha, to act fast and dismiss the Congress led coalition Government in order to avert further constitutional crisis in the state.
Leader of the Panthers Party in the state Assembly,Harsh Dev Singh, said here today “the Governor should use section 92 of the state constitution and dismiss the Government on the basis of the constitutional crisis which has erupted following PDP patron Mufti Sayeed’s support for dual currency.”
He said that the conflicting stand taken by the coalition partners had elevated the level of political crisis which could cast its shadow on the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. He suspected that the PDP’s slogans on dual currency and dual control on Kashmir had the tacit support of the Congress.
“Had there been no understanding between the two on these issues the Chief Minister should have come out and criticize the Muftis on their support for dual currency and dual control on Kashmir,”Harsh Dev Singh said.
He said that both the congress and the PDP had lost the confidence of people of the state and the only alternative was either the two should resign for the Governor should dismiss the Government for setting the stage for early election.
The Panthers Party leader said that already the conflict between the Congress and the PDP over a number of issues had affected the security scenario in the state. He wanted the Governor to act fast since it was the most appropriate time for dismissing the Government.
“Let the people be given a chance to elect a Government of their choice,”he said adding that there was no hardm in placing the state under a brief spell of Governor’s rule. “I favour holding of the ensuing election under the Governor’s rule because in that case the chances for rigging the poll were limited as had been witnessed in 1977 election.
