| Trainings imperative to excel: Saroori | | Refresher course on wild life protection | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 17 To cross the threshold limit in the performance, the training skills as inculcated during the training courses have to be translated into action for better results, Minister of State for Forests Mr. G. M. Saroori said and added that the training and development of individuals has always the potential of bringing out the maximum from the individual with regard to his work out put. The Minister was speaking during two weeks Refresher course for frontline staff organized by the department of Wildlife Protection in collaboration with Directorate of Forest Education Dehradun at Manda Jammu yesterday. The Minister said that purpose behind organizing various training courses including seminars, debates, workshops and refresher courses for the in-service officers and officials of the departments is refresh professional skills among them and explore possibility of bringing more and more degraded and waste land under the aforestation cover. He hoped that field staff of above sad departments should fully dedicate themselves to the course of the operational activities of the department as their working is not only concerning to increase the forest wealth of the state but is effectively incidental to maintain ecological balance necessary for sustaining living of various organisms on this earth. Mr. Saroori further added that dereliction to duties to these departments shall not only degrade the forest area but shall lead to ecological disorder which shall mean nothing but culmination of feed and fodder and mortality of life. Mr. Saroori hoped that such training programmes will be periodically organized so that the capacity and professional competence of all the frontline staff managing the natural resources of the state is increased. The Minister said that to deal with the situation of man-wild animal conflicts, substantial strengthening of the department of Wildlife Protection is called for in terms of the mobility, communication, equipments, trapping and translocation facilities, rescue centers, compensations package, honorarium to eco-development committees and awareness raising etc. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary, Forests Mr. Madhaw Lal said that trainings were essential to upgrade the knowledge, skills and attitude of the employees. He said that though certain training programmes an employee learns to quantify the data of any thing which helps in tabulating and interpret it for further better results. Chief Wildlife Warden, Department of Wildlife Warden, J&K presented welcome address and threw light on the two weeks refresher course. Regional Wildlife Warden Mr. Nisar Ahmad Kichloo offered the vote of thanks on the occasion. Among others who spoke on the occasion including Chairman, Pollution Control Board Mr. C. M. Seth. |
