| JSM condemns recent statements of Mufti, Mehbooba | | ‘Seth likely to file criminal proceedings’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 17 In a joint statement several leaders of Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) have strongly condemned the recent statements of Mufti Mohammed Sayed and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti asking for joint control of India and Pakistan over Jammu and Kashmir, use of dual currency of Pakistan and India and providing safe passage to militants who have crossed over to Pakistan for arms training. The Morcha leaders Prof Virender Gupta, Dig Vijay Singh and Narinder Magorta in their joint statement described these statements against the integrity of India as also against the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. ‘Both the Mufti’s have communal mindset and are trying to please the anti-India and pro-Pak elements in the Valley to regain the political space the PDP has lost in the valley because of its actions and autocratic policies’, the Morcha leaders alleged. Asking for a joint control, the Morcha leaders said it was against the instrument of accession and against the wishes of the people of the state who had fully supported the accession to India under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah. Providing free passage to militants who had gone to Pakistan for arms training is fought with dangerous consequences, the Morcha leaders said and maintained that most of the surrendered militants have again taken to arms and are indulging in anti-India activities. In the meanwhile BJP leader and working committee member Onkar Seth has observed that many of the Kashmir leaders are indulging in controversial statements due to the confusing policies and postures of the Congress leadership. Commenting on the recent utterances of Mufti and his daughter, Seth said ‘these remarks are clearly violation of the constitution of the state and the country. He disclosed that he along with his legal colleagues is examining the statements of Mufti and other Kashmiri leaders to file criminal proceedings so as to put a halt to such live obnoxious moves. |
