| Satwant Dogra tours several villages in Samba | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 17 Congress leader Satwant Dogra has called upon the people to come forward and derive benefits from the schemes launched in the state for the welfare of poor and down trodden people. Addressing series of public meetings at Baing Galarh, Goran, Raj Samba Supwal and Tanda Burj, the Congress leader dwelt at length about the achievements of the coalition government especially during the Congress led coalition. She said that CM Ghulam Nabi Azad took some bold and revolutionary steps and ensured equitable development of all the regions and areas of the state. Pointing out that the Congress has always championed the cause of women and their empowerment, Satwant Dogra reminded the people that AICC President Sonia Gandhi during the women convention has promised to fulfill the demand of 33 per cent reservation to women in Parliament and other democratic institutions. Referring to the development of Samba, the Congress leader said that most of the long pending demands of the area have been conceded to by the coalition government and in this connection referred opening of a Degree college, up gradation of Samba as a model constituency, up gradation of ITI. In the meanwhile a delegation of farmers from Tanda Burj and Supwal led by Satwant Kour today called on Janak Raj Gupta Advisor to Chief Minister and demanded grant of compensation of the land occupied for fencing purpose on the International border. |
