Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed the trading community to maintain the supply and price line and desist from taking unpractical and unreasonable arbitrary steps just to create panic in the market.
Reviewing the situation arising out of the present hike in the rates of different commodities, the Chamber in its meeting with Ram Sahai president in chair observed that forward trading of commodities is playing a major role in creating this situation.
Addressing the meeting Sahai emphasized that being true nationalists ‘we have a responsibility towards civil society for which we should take all the measures at our command so that the artificial scarcity or hike in the prices is not created’.
The participants at the meeting pointed out that harsh and arbitrary orders being issued by the authorities has created a panic like situation and discontent is prevailing amongst the traders. The unreasonable orders or actions without taking cognizance of basic issues and problems are likely to create a situation which can amount to failure of supply line and creating scarcities in the market. |
