Would Azad occupy CM’s chair in sectt as durbar moves?

The rush of visitors to the civil secretariat in Jammu has started swelling with only a week left for the move offices to close in connection with the bi-annual Durbar move.
These visitors are people from different areas of the state who are keen to see their cases, pending in the secretariat, cleared. These visitors want their cases to be settled because they do not know whether Ghulam Nabi Azad would be the chief Minister when the moves offices open in Jammu in May 2009 as the election results would be out by the first week of November 2008.
Not only the junior officers even the senior bureaucrats are said to be engaged in betting over who will be the chief Minister. The betting is on four persons,Ghulam Nabi Azad,Dr Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah and Mufti Mohd.Sayeed.Nobody is definite about who will don the chief Minister’s robe. They are,at the same time, sure that the next election will throw up a hung Assembly because neither the Congress, nor the PDP nor the National Conference were likely to get an absolute majority in the Assembly.
Hence the State will have another period of a coalition rule. Though the Congress high command may not prefer Congress-National Conference coalition but opt for the continuation of the present political arrangement, nothing definite can be said about the whims of political leaders. One cannot totally rule out the possibility of NC-Congress coalition. The NC leadership would be willing to accept this arrangement.
One thing is certain that if the role of the PDP during the election process creates some political problems for the congress, there is every possibility that the Congress leadership may opt for snapping ties with the PDP and forge a new alliance with the National Conference.
