| Dogra school bags first prize in speech contest | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 19 As a part of Fire Service Week a speech competition was organized at Fire and Emergency Service Headquarters, Gandhinagar Jammu in which students from different schools of Jammu city participated. The topic for the speech competition was this year’s slogan “Fire Prevention Do it for life”. The first prize was bagged by Mr Vivek Gupta of Dogra HSS Shastri Nagar while as second and third prize was bagged by Miss Nandita Koul of National Public HSS Shiv Nagar and Miss Mandeep Kour of Dogra HSS Shastri Nagar respectively. The two consolation prizes were also awarded to Miss Poonam Gupta of Luthra Academy HS Gandhi Nagar and Miss Simran of Government Middle School Kachi Chawni. The mementoes and cash rewards were awarded to the winners alongwith certificates of merit by Director General, Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Dr G A Bhat, , who was the chief guest on the occasion. Director Fire and Emergency Services Jammu Mr R S Sodhi, Joint Director Mr R K Hak and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhat impressed upon all walks of life to adopt fire preventive and precautionary measures for safety of life and property. He applauded the role of Fire and Emergency Service Officers/officials for working with devotion and dedication. He also appreciated the role of his command officers/staff for making elaborate arrangements for this year’s Fire Service Week. |
