| 11 traders fined by Legal Metrology Deptt | | | Early Times Reporter

Special Squad is constituted by the government for market checking in zone E i.e Gandhinagar area headed by Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Jammu Mr V S Sambyal. The team conducted market checking at various places of the area and booked four violators under the J&K Weights and Measures Enf Act realizing a fine of Rs.4500.
Another team in zone B i.e city area booked seven vegetable vendors and Rs.1300 was imposed as penalty. Traders dealing with kiryana items, fruit and vegetables were directed to display the rates prominently in trading premises failing which action under rules shall be taken against the defaulters.
The department appealed the consumers to come forward in case of the complaints regarding overcharging on the essential commodities as per rate list issued by the Director, CAPD Department Jammu. |
