| IEA urges Govt not to increase FDI level | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 19 On the completion of one year of functioning of New Divisional Committee, a meet of North zone Insurance Employees Association (IEA) was held here today. The meet in which members of four local units and from Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts participated and was presided over by the Vice President, IEA, Rajesh Gupta. During the meet, the Association urged upon the govt not to increase the FDI levela from 20% to 49%. Speaking on the occasion, Divisonal Secretary, IEA Pawan Gupta said that increase in FDI would be a dangerous step, as it will enable the multinational companies to gain control of large pool of savings of people and after that there would be no guarantee that their saving would be safe or not. He further urged upon the authorities to get start recruitment of class-III and class-IV employees at earliest as this has been delayed for long time as the result there is active shortage of staff. Among other who spoke on the occasion were Ramesh Chand, Shiban Chand, Vikram Singh, Raj Kumar and Dinesh Sharma. |
