| Cong, PDP – two sides of same coin: BJP | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 20 Decrying Prime Minister Manmohan Sing and AICC President Sonia Gandhi for remaining tightlipped over the recent statement of former Chief Minsiter Mufti Mohammed Syeed regarding the introduction of Pakistani currency in Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartia Janta Party has said that the silence apart from being intriguing and alarming particularly at a time when PDP leaders have been raising the anti national and pro Pakistan issues on frequent basis, also proves the fact that Congress is hand in glove with PDP. Addressing media persons in a press conference here on Sunday, Vice President and Spokesperson, Professor Hari Om said that the manner in which the PDP, which is an important constituent of the Congress-led ruling coalition in the state, is indulging in anti-national activities and arousing popular passions in Kashmir has clearly brought the real picture of Congress being hand-in-glove with the PDP to the fore. He further said that Complete silence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC-I president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi over the anti-India, pro-Pakistan and militant-friendly no-holds-barred campaign unleashed by People's Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Sayeed and party president and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti in and outside J&K is both intriguing and alarming He said their silence is all the more alarming because none of them has so far uttered a single word against the PDP's divisive, patently communal, essentially pro-Pakistan and militant-friendly demands which, among others, include self-rule outside the Indian Constitution, supra state measures, dual power-sharing arrangement between India and Pakista, economic freedom, permission to the state to use both the Indian and Pakistani currencies, withdrawal of all anti-terror laws and army from J&K, freedom to "J&K from the shackles of security syndrome" and safe passage for POK-based Kashmiri militants so that they could return to Kashmir. Hari Om said that his party believes that the Muftis have been deliberately raising these issues to make the Prime Minister announce some militant and Pakistan-friendly concessions during his visit to the state in the last week of this month. |
