Top HM militant surrenders at Doda

A top militant of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit today surrendered before the police at Doda. He has been identified as Ghulam Qadir code Abdullah s/o Mehar Baksh r/o Chilly Pain Gandoh.
The surrendered militant considered ‘A’ graded militant and section commander of HM outfit was active in Cilly, Tanta, Thathri, Chiralla, Gandoh and Kither areas since last ten years.
He also surrendered one AK rifle with three magazine and 90 rounds, one wireless set, one pouch, one binocular and huge quantity of incriminating material.
The sources said that as a result of regular motivation through the parents and relatives of active militants during various meetings conducted by the Doda police a number of militants are coming forward for surrender. For the last about one month, a police party headed by SHO Inspector Farooq Ahmed Wani and some local sources were engaged in motivating some militants for surrender in Gandho areas as a result of which one such militant surrendered today. The sources added that some more militants are likely to surrender in the coming days.
