Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 20 Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) today named a 20-member girls football team for the 4th Under-17 Girls National Championship to be held at Diphu in Assam from April 26 to May 11 at MA Stadium, here. The team shall proceed for the venue on April 23 and will be playing their opening group match against Himachal Pradesh on April 28. “Jammu and Kashmir has been placed in a pool of three with Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. In this national championship, about 24 teams representing various states of the country are taking part on league-cum-knock out basis,” coach of the team, Iqbal Singh told Sports & Allied News. Although J&K do not have any stake in the championship, the officials of the Sports Council expect an improved performance from the young footballers. The team: Pooja, Shagun, Mahak, Gurpreet, Rekha Masih, Khushbu, Rashika Koul, Rekha Devi, Shalini Dogra, Upasana Khajuria, Ridham Sharma, Ashima Sharma, Stephy Kundal, Tina Sabotra, Prachi Manhas, Rashmeet Kour, Sakshi Bandral, Deepika Dogra, Diksha Mehra and Ritu.
