| Modelites shine in "National Graphics Championship 2007" | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 22 A group of students from Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER brought laurels to the school by obtaining top most grades in the National Graphics Championship organized by SILVER ZONE New Delhi, the results of which were declared recently. More than 2000 schools from all over the country participated in this championship and students of Model academy were placed in A+ Grade. The main aim of the championship was to develop computing skills in students especially in the field of graphics, animation, digital cartooning etc and to develop content which is innovative in nature. The team from Model Academy competed in the upper middle category and comprised of three students from class 9th namely Anchit Mahajan, Silvi Koul and Shivani Koul. They created an animated story using vibrant graphics and sound titled ‘War of Aliens’. The students were presented with merit certificates by Joint Director MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta who congratulated the students and appreciated their efforts for achieving success in such a prestigious competition. A Merit certificate was also given to the school by SILVER ZONE for this outstanding achievement. Dr. Gupta also congratulated Mrs.Usha Gadoo, the Vice Principal of the school and Ms Ruchi Sharma, the Graphics expert for encouraging the students and helping them succeed at the national level. He also addressed the information technology department of the school to train more students so that next year large number of students could participate and win in such competitions. |
