Newly upgraded HS dedicated to public

Consolidation of infrastructure which forms the second crucial phase in the expansion of the educational sector following upgradation and opening of hundreds of institutions over past couple of years has been put on fast track stated Minister for Rural Development. Mula Ram while addressing students, parents and locals after dedicating
the newly upgraded Government High School Parkhian in Bhalwal zone to the public.
The students, staff and locals had organized a simple but impressive function to celebrate the upgradation of the school, a long pending demand of the area.
Minister said that subsequent construction of infrastructure for newly opened schools, colleges and university campuses has silenced the voices who were raising unnecessary questions. He said the government has and continue to peruse its agenda of making the
availability of education at all levels easily accessible to remotest areas of the state.
Highlighting the achievements registered in education sector, Minister said that opening of over two dozen new colleges and five new universities besides, setting up of university campuses in almost every district has taken the higher education to the door steps of
common man. 'Besides making available school education facilities within every five kilometer area, government has also fixed the target of having a college in every Tehsil and a University campus in each district" , Mula Ram asserted.. He said by this way, higher education, once considered as the domain of rich people was brought at
the doorsteps of every common man . He said the massive expansion at all levels witnessed over past some years have already set the stage for achieving the target of 100 percent literacy.
The students of the school also presented a colorful cultural programme on the occasion.
Earlier Minister also presided over annul day function of S D Memorial Public school at Kharwanda
Speaking on the occasion, Mula Ram appreciated the role of private sector and said that Jammu and its peripheries houses large number of private colleges, both academic and professional where thousands of students from outside pursue their studies. He said no one can deny the fact that Jammu has emerged as a hub of education with the opening
of number of institutions both in public and private sector. Stressing upon the parents and teachers to take keen interest in the education of children, he said cultural and co-curricular activities should be made essential part of syllabus for ensuring all round development of students.
