| Khoda for upgrading security grid to fight terrorism | | 2-day Security Workshop at Jammu | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 22 Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda has stressed on augmenting and modernizing security grid to meet challenges of terrorism spreading tentacles globally. Speaking at the concluding function of 2-day workshop on security, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Security headquarters here today, the Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda said “Jammu and Kashmir Police has attained highest degree of professionalism in dealing volatile situations created by various faces of terrorism and violence over the years”. “Such workshops would indeed go a long way in sharing experiences in tackling such situations working out strategies, he said and hoped that the participants would elaborately deliberate on challenges and opportunities. He emphasized the need for upgrading training skills to counter the security challenges. He asked the participants to get acquaints with the latest security techniques and action strategies. He said that though incidents of violence have come down to a large extent, yet, we have not to allow any loophole to emerge. Mr. Khoda said such workshops would prove very beneficial for persons working at various levels in the security wing. He said all possible help would be provided for imparting latest trainings at Sheri-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) and other police schools in the state. He said latest weaponry gadgets would also be provided to strengthen the security system in the organization. The Director General of Police stressed on coordination among all the agencies in the police organization to achieve better results. Mr. Khoda said that as a part of workshop the legislatures and VIPs including political activists would also be acquainted with preliminary defending measures aimed at ensuring safety. He sought their coordination in this regard. The participants appreciated the organization for arranging such workshops and said during the two day workshop they gained a lot of knowledge to deal with security situations. During the two day workshop more than 200 officers and men from various security wings across the state participated. Earlier, Inspector General of Police, J&K, Security, Dr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, gave a detailed action taken report of the workshop. DIG Security Mr. G.S. Slathia, SSPs Mr. A. S. Bali, Mr. Mushtaq Sadiq, Mr. M.A.Tak, Mr. Bhupinder Singh, and Additional S.P. (Security) Mr. Maqsood-ul-Zaman also gave power point presentations. The workshop was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mr. K. Rajendra, on April 21, 2008. In his inaugural address he said that access control and anti-sabotage check should be of higher order and stressed the need for standardization of various aspects of security. |
