| Priyadarshni Hostel girls win TT title | | | Early Times Reporter

In an attempt to encourage sports culture at the hostel level, especially among the female boarders, the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu organized Table Tennis and Carrom competitions at Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In Table Tennis, Priyadarshni Hostel trounced Sarojni Naidu Hostel 2-0. In first singles, Sunaina Sharma beat Divya Mahajan 16-14, 18-16 in a neck to neck contest. Meenakshi Sharma won the second singles to help her team win the final. She beat Naveen in easy straight sets 11-8, 11-2.Table Tennis competitions were officiated by Ravi Vaid.
In Carrom final, Sarojni Naidu Hostel turned the tables against Priyadarshi Hostel beating latter 2-1.
In the first singles, Nirja bt Meenakshi Sharma while Rabia lost to Sunaina. However, in deciding doubles, the pair of Rabia and Rubina beat Meenakshi and Sunaina.
Meanwhile, the Badminton and Chess competitions have been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at the same venue. |
