Green Valley (Red) defeated Green Valley (Green) to clinch first place in senior girls group on the opening day of the three-day Fourth District Srinagar Rugby (7-7) Championship which went underway at Polo Ground, here today.
Third place in senior girls’ was bagged by Women Rugby Club beating the opponent with a comfortable margin in the hard liner.
In the junior girls category, the team from Linton Hall School emerged the winner beating Little Angles in the final. Green Valley School finished third.
The sub-junior girls’ title was bagged by Green Valley School team beating Linton Hall in the final. Little Angles had to contain themselves with third position.
In boys’ sub-junior group, Almahmood Children Home beat Green Valley School to emerge the winner. Third place went to Linton Hall School.
In the girls finals today, Joint Director Tourism, Sarmad Hafiz was chief guest, who gave away prizes to the winners of different age groups. Principal Linton Hall School, Rubana Sofi was guest of honour in the today’s finals.
Meanwhile, according to the organizing secretary of the tournament, Iqbal the competitions in boys junior and senior categories shall take place from tomorrow onwards. |
