| DFO crying for justice, curses authorities | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 22 Vijay Kumar Gupta s/o Manga Ram Gupta r/o Trikuta Nagar, a retired DFO, is crying for justice of which he has been deprived of. Gupta, stepping in Early Times said that he was the main witness of Rs. 80 crore timber scam and it was he who unearthed the scam. He said that during intervening night of June 28- 29, 2005 at Jammu railway station twenty wagons of elicit timber, which was being supplied to army, air force, was un-earthed. The timber being given to them was Far and kail in the guise of deodar. A case was also registered in Trikuta Nagar Police station in this regard. During investigation it was revealed that the main kingpin of this scam were owner of a prestigious hotel and an owner of saw mill .Vijay Gupta was also beaten by the goons of Hotel owner while he was on morning walk causing injuries to his head and arms. A case under section 307, 109 and 120-B had also been registered in this regard in Trikuta Nagar police station. Lamenting over honesty and dedication towards duty he said that no challan has been presented against culprits till date. He said culprits are till date making him threatening calls to him. Cursing police authorities, he said, police favours those who are rich and influential at the cost of poor and honest. |
