NFIW deputation call on Saroori, demand hike in old age pension

A deputation of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) led by its President Sushila Jamwal along with its General Secretary Nirmal Rattan and Shamima Begum, Shazadi Gill, Sunita Sharma,. Rama and Girja Kapoor called on the Minister of State for Social Welfare G M Saroori here today and discussed several issues.
The deputation apprised the Minister about the problems of the old age pensions, widows, pensioners, handicapped pensioners and demanded enhancement of pension from Rs. 200-300 to Rs. 800-1000 per month and financial assistance from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 50,000 and government service to widows and handicapped.
The Minister is reported to have assured the deputation for redressal of these demands.
