| Infiltration bid foiled in Poonch | | | Early Times Reporter

Security forces on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid and shot dead a militant near the Line of Control in Poonch district.
A group of three militants entered the district from Pakistan occupied Kashmir. On spotting their movement, security forces cordoned off the area and launched an operation to track them down in Nadole area of Mendhar tehsil, official sources said.
During the encounter that followed, one militant was shot dead, they said adding that one AK rifle and other ammunition were recovered from him.
Two infiltrating militants are believed to be in cordon and the operation was still going on, when the reports last came in. |
