| Vakil inaugurates painting exhibition | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 23 Social Welfare Minister Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil today inaugurated painting exhibition organized by State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here at Kala Kendra. As many as 30 paintings created by young promising self taught artists Rouf Qayasi and Javaid Iqbal have been put on display in three day long exhibition. These paintings largely depict varied themes ranging from flora-fauna, environment, pleasure, pain, etc. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vakil called for working out effective strategy for spotting talent in the field of art. Saying that paintings symbolize voice of silence and speak louder than works, he said this discipline of art portrays the society and conveys millions of words. He appreciated the paintings of budding artists and asked them to pursue passion for art with full commitment. He said painting was an important fine art that expresses thought and feelings of artists in a subtle but potent manner. Secretary State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Dr. Rafiq Ahmad Masoodi, appreciating artistic fervor of painters asked them to work harder to bloom in painting vocation. "Be never contented in creative art of painting till you carve out a nische for your self in world class artist fraternity", he said. |
