Why JKLF singled out for its ban
3/26/2019 11:53:45 PM
The government has formally banned Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohammad Yasin Mailk faction) vide notification No 1403 (E) dated March 22, 2019.As per the notification issued by the Union Home Ministry, Government of India is of the opinion that JKLF is involved in "anti-national and subversive activities and is in close touch with militant outfits and is supporting extremism in the State."The notification further says the party propagates "anti-national and separatist sentiments and escalates secessionist moments. "As such, the notification reads, the origination stands banned as per the provisions of sub-sections (1) and (3) of section 3 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 for a period of five years.A lesson for Pakistan.Despite uproar world wide Islamabad has neither banned JeM nor LeT.This indicates that Pakistan is a safe haven for terrorists. On the other hand the JKLF, Mohd. Yasin Malik faction in Kashmir stands banned and this drew a complete shutdown Many parts of the valley witnessed protest rallies against the ban.But as far as India is concerned it has made it clear that the JKLF leaders were in touch with militants. For supporting militants the JKLF is banned. See the fate of Pakistan Jaish-e-Mohammad,led by Masood Azhar, and the JuD headed by Hafiz Saeed have directed terrorists to cross into Kashmir and raise the level of violence. Mark the vibrant democratic temperament in India as New Delhi banned the JKLF for its links with militants and its chief Molhd. Yasin Malik's killing of Kashmiri Panidts and some air force officials has been arrested and prevented from holding any r ally.
On the other hand Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed have indulged in various anti-India acts and despite the UN security council resolution to declare Masood Azhar a globally terrorists but his day was saved by China who opposed the resolution. Why the JKLF has been singled out as far as its banning is concerned. It is a sheer first hand act because other separatists ,both moderates and hardliners, are in league with terrorists belonging to Pakistan. Since 1987 when the Muslim United Front assumed the role of separatists it has added to the tension in the valley. All the time its leaders register their strength by giving a call for shutdown and protest rallies. And during these protects rallies civilians, supporting the separatists, clash with thesecurity forces .And during these clashes some civilians are injured and others are killed. It gives another cause for trouble in Kashmir. The tale is not brief and it may prolong the disturbances
