| JASHN-E- JAMMU FAILS TO SECURE A CABINET BERTH FOR SHER-E- JAMMU | | | Jammu, August 29 : The grand show ‘Jashn-e-Jammu ‘ put up the Jammu and Kashmir Panthers party chief Prof Bhim Singh to celebrate the creation of eight new districts across the state failed to secure a cabinet berth for any one of the four legislators of the Panthers party during Tuesday’s cabinet expansion. Last week, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azads' presence on the platform with Prof Bhim Singh and his long stay at the function had raised hopes of many party workers that their party would be given due representation in the next round of cabinet expansion. During the show, Panthers chief had left no stone unturned to impress Chief Minister and literally stole the show as he showered praises on Ghulam Nabi Azad creating an impression that his closeness with Congress Chief Minister augurs well for the party men and all their differences have been resolved. But on Tuesday morning, soon after the ceremony was over in Srinagar Raj Bhawan mood among the party workers was sullen. Suprisingly, neither Prof Bhim Singh nor former Education Minister Harsh Dev Singh attended the ceremony in Srinagar. Inside reports suggest that after it was known to both these leaders that neither of them was on the list of council of ministers likely to be inducted on Tuesday they declined to visit Srinagar to attend the ceremony.Reports said , Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad chose to keep Panthers nominee out of his council of ministers due to differences in the Panthers party over the name of party nominee.
It is no political secret that Azad wanted Harsh Dev Singh but Prof Bhim Singh had other ideas and he too failed to garner enough support for himself to secure his cabinet berth. |
