Thwart any attempt to derail coalition agenda
Mehbooba cautions people to remain vigilant against elements to harm gains of Coalition Govt.

Srinagar, July 06: Member Parliament and PDP President Ms Mehbooba Mufti has today appealed people to thwart any attempt aimed derailing the political and development agenda as is being persuade by the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir. Describing conducive atmosphere imperative for achieving long lasting and dignified peace in trouble torn J&K State, she has asked people to remain vigilant against vested elements who are bent upon adding up their miseries and whose nefarious designs are to erode the gains of relief, sucour provided to the people by virtue of implementation of people-friendly policy and strenuous efforts put in during last nearly four years of coalition government adding that people would not allow any opportunity to the vested interests to harm the gains and achievements of positive sense of security.

Addressing wayside gatherings during her extensive tour to outskirts of Anantnag town and other villages in the tehsil today, Ms Mehbooba said that the silver-lining of the healing touch philosophy put into action after change of guard in October 2002 was that a relaxed security situation has emerged in the State where people felt empowered and slowly but steadily their faith and trust and started rebuilding in the democratic institutions resulting in massive voter turn out during Municipal Elections and then Assembly bye-elections. She underscored need for consolidating such positive trend and atmosphere so that peace yearning people of the state would get rid of the terror once for all.

Ms Mehbooba during her tour visited Seepan, Mirgund, Monghall, Fetahpore, Udgjan, Dialgam, Mir Danter, Rooh and other adjacent areas took stock of the problems confronting people besides implementation of development process and welfare schemes.

Member Parliament announced a grant of Rs. 15 lakhs out of MPLAD fund for several public utility assets in these areas. During her interaction with the inhabitants in these areas Ms Mehbooba Mufti assured people that coalition government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people and said, "it is the prime duty of the government to mitigate their problems and not any favour to the people".
