| Accused involved in Black-marketing of Sugar surrender before Court | | Court sends the accused to police custody for one day and thereafter granted bail | |
Jammu, August, 29:- Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta today granted bail to ration dealer Keemat Lal against whom Police Domana registered a case for selling 46 bags of sugar in the black-market which were meant for the people below poverty line.
The accused who surrendered before the Court for grant of bail, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta after looking to the facts and circumstances of the case observed that it is necessary to have custodial interrogation of the accused in the case. Therefore, on the prayer of the IO, the accused is sent to the custodial interrogation till tomorrow up to 12:00 noon for getting the entire information and seizing the record from the accused. As such the wake of prayer of IO and PP Mr. EA Tak having no objection to the release of accused on bail after 12.00 Noon tomorrow. Present accused is order to be released on bail after 12:00 Noon provided he furnishes surety and personal bond in the sum of Rs 50,000/- each to this Court tomorrow at 12:00 Noon.
The accused filed this bail petition through Advocate Dinesh Singh Chouhan on the ground that a false case has been registered against the petitioner at P/S Domana for the commission of offence 3/7 Essential Commodities Act and surrendered before the Court. In the objection PP Mr. EA Tak resisted the bail application on the ground that 46 bags of sugar each weighing 50 KG have been seized by the police from the possession of the accused and accused had sold the sugar in black-market, which is meant for the people below poverty line. Court after hearing both the sides sent the accused to custodial interrogation till tomorrow and granted bail thereafter.
