| Crime Branch registers case against the then Naib Tehsildar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 25 Crime Branch has registered a case against Mohammed Asgar Bhat s/o Ghuam Rasool of Tiranga(Thuroo) Naib Tehsilder Revenue posted at Jammu. The accused is reported to have cheated the complainant and grabbed Rs.20, 000 by way of procuring forged documents with fraudulent means. Acting on a complaint of Chain Singh s/o Faqir Singh of Bahu Fort Jammu duly endorsed by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, registered a case and took up the investigation. As per the preliminary verification, prima facie offences under section 420/467/RPC stands proved against the Naib Tehsildar. The in depth investigation of the case is in progress. The complainant in his complaint had alleged that he was well acquainted with the Naib Tehsildar as both of them hailed from Mahore Tehsil and in the first week of January 2006 the accused Naib Tehsildar met the complainant at Tehsil office Jammu when he had gone to the revenue office for inclusion of his name on the revenue records. The said Mohammed Asgar after knowing the purpose of the visit of the complainant asked him to pay Rs. 20,000 as fee charges for inclusion of his name in the revenue records. Unaware of the procedure the complainant fell into his trap and paid Rs.20,000 to the Naib Tehsildar in presence of one Tirath Ram Sarpanch s/o Sansar Singh of Sarote Chassana . The Naib Tehsildar handed over the relevant documents to the complainant like Girdwari, sketch and report of the Patwari concerned. However, on verification the complainant was stunned to learn that these documents were never existed in original record and false and forged thereby cheating the complainant. |
