| Peace, friendly relations imperative for both the neighbours: GuptaPeace, friendly relations imperative for both the neighbours: Gupta | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 25 Voicing concern over the reports about regrouping of ultras, both in the state as also across the Line of Control, the former Union Minister and a senior leader of the BJP, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has impressed upon the Government at the Centre that the men in authority including the new government in Pakistan should be made it clear that first of all the cross border terror should be stopped and extremists should be provided some other task instead of bloodshed. Addressing a meeting of the party activists of Mahore and Doda areas here, Prof. Gupta said that peace is the basic extinct for mankind but it was unfortunate that the sad communal division of undivided India, has left behind many scars which are still soaring but for the policies of the Congress leadership, who first cheated the nationalists by accepting this division and went ahead to grant separate status to Jammu and Kashmir. This communal approach has led to many problems including the birth of fundamentalism and cross border terror; he added and observed that it was unfortunate that Congress has not come out of this communal approach so far. Referring to efforts for peace and confidence building measures with the theoretic state of Pakistan, Prof. Gupta said that peace and friendly relations are good for both the neighbors but this desire could not be achieved until and unless there is change in the basic policies of Pakistan. How the peace could be possible when the infiltration of ultras was still continuing and the structure of terror is still intact, he questioned. The BJP leader said that it is officially being confirmed that large number of trained and highly motivated terrorists are waiting for infiltration and mentors of militancy are openly at work in Pak-occupied Kashmir as also in entering and trying to regroup the left out residue and recruit new elements to take the charge of the killed terrorists, especially the commanders. Prof. Gupta said that the Congress led coalition of the state has come to be a curse rather than sorting out any problem. This is evident from the fact of continuing hartals, demonstrations and what not against this dispensation. The misleading and controversial slogans being raised by the leaders of this coalition coupled with the no clear cut policy by the Congress led UPA government, is making the matters worse. He asked the workers to prepare for the coming elections so as to bring to an end of this government and strengthen the forces of nationalism and unity of the country. |
