| Over 1.53 lakh pilgrims visited Shiv Khori Shrine Cave | | | Early Times Reporter Reasi | Apr 25 Since January Ist to till date over 1,53,881 pilgrims from with in and out side the state pay obeisance at the historic Shiv Khori Shrine Cave. It was disclosed by the Vice Chairman, Shiv Khori Shrine Board, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Mr Rajeev Verma here today. Mr Verma further revealed that after Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine cave situated in the Trikuta hills of Katra town, the historic Shiv Khori Shrine Cave is now emerging as the second largest pilgrimage well as tourist destination in the Reasi district which will further boost the economy of Reasi, Pouni, Ransoo and Shiv Khori area and the unemployed youth of the Reasi district would have more employment opportunities. The educated youth who are not employed yet would now start their own income generating ventures by availing benefits of various state and centrally sponsored schemes. About 1.40 lakh pilgrims had visited the holy cave shrine of Shiv Khori during the same period in 2007 thus registering an increase of about 14000 devotees this year. Since the issuance of ordinance by His Excellency the Governor of J&K state regarding setting up of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, a number of development works have been started which include a Serai near the cave is one of them which would after completion would have accommodation facilities for thousands of pilgrims at a time for their comfortable stay with all required facilities. Besides tile work on 3 km long track from Ransoo to Shiv Khori is nearing completion. The Shiv Khori Shrine Board is also making all out efforts to provide more and more facilities to the visiting pilgrims and the yatra is also increasing day by day because of adequate arrangements by the Shiv Khori Shrine Board. The historic Shiv Khori Shrine Cave is situated in Pouni block of the Reasi district in Jammu province and is gaining popularity day by day. A number of other religious and tourist places like Agharjitto, Nav Mata, Baba Dansar, Seiar Baba, Ziarat at Zandi Morh, Salal Dam, Dera Baba, Bidda Baba at Simble Choa, Kalka Mandir/Mahadev Mandir Reasi, Bhim Garh Fort Reasi and Chenana Devita are other main attractions for the visiting pilgrims in the Reasi district. Thousands of devotees and tourists visit these destinations through out the year. |
