| TADA Court issues non bailable arrest warrant against Malik, Mir, 8 others | | | Srinagar, August 29: TADA Court Jammu here on Tuesday issued non bailable arrest warrants against ten persons including JKLF Chairman Mohd Yaseen Malik and Javed Ahmed Mir in connection with their involvement in Rubya Sayeed kidnapping case. Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that case regarding 1990 attack on Air Force personnel came up for hearing before TADA court in Jammu during which Sofi Imtiyaz and Yogesh Bakshi, the counsels for accused, appeared on behalf of their appellants including JKLF Chairman Mohd Yasin Malik and Javed Ahmed Mir, while as court had ordered them to appear in person. The counsels of the accused made arguments to defend their clients, but the same could not prove convincing for the TADA Court Judge who while taking cognizance of non compliance ordered non bailable arrest warrants against Mohd Yaseen Malik, Javed Ahmed Mir, Nana Ji Saleem, Javed Ahmed Sager, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi, Wajahat Bashir, Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh, Ali Mohd Mir, Mohd Zaman Mir and Mohd Yaqoob Pandit. Putting up the case for next hearing on September 23, 2006, the TADA Court Judge threatened stern action against the accused, if they did not turn up for personal appearance on next date of hearing before the court. It would not be out of place to mention here that Rubya Sayeed was released in exchange of four militants, when her father Mufti Mohd Sayeed was holding the position of Union Home Minister.
