| Kanji village connected with motorable road | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 25 Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Chhering Dorje today inaugurated the 12 km long Kanji road amid cheers and clapping by the over eagerly people at Kanji, 97 km from here. Rs 87.44 lacs was spent on this road. At a well attended function, the Chief Executive Councilor, Cheering Dorje said that Hill Council is all bent to connect remote villages with motorable road so that the better communication and transport facilities is ensured for development. Dorje said that with the opening of 12 km long fair weather road, mostly through rocky portions, a long felt demand of Kanji village has fulfilled. He said that the Hill Council with its close vigil and provision of funds, Mangu road, Shang road, Yarma Gonbo to Burma road, Digger road, Chumoor road, Achinathang link road, Skurbuchan-Skamburdoo road were connected within last two years and is expected to commission Skindiyang link road within next one month. Stating about black topping of many links road, he assured that Kanji road will also be black topped in a shortest possible time. The Deputy Commissioner, Leh M.K. Bhandari speaking on the occasion said that communication facilities is the key object in development of an area. He said that opening of Kanji road may play its due role in development of Kanji village. He said that the work on this road was started in 1997 at a targeted amount of Rs. 1.69 crore. The Deputy Commissioner said that the work on the road was carried in full swing in the second phase starting from 2005. Other present on the occasion were Executive Councilor Forest Mohd Khan, Executive Councilor Public Distribution Stanzin Delak, Superintending Engineer PWD Circle M.C. Bhagat, Project Director DRDA Ali Raza, SDM, Khaltsi G.M. Brakboo Councilor Lamayuru Tsewang Gonbo, Councilor Temisgam Dorje Namgyal and other senior officers of the district. |
