Drubeel area of Mughal Maidan lacks basic amenities, road under construction since 15 years

Kishtwar, Apr 6: The people of Drubeel area of Mughal Maidan in Chatroo area of Kishtwar District lack basic amenities like better roads, schools, health facilities, electricity and drinking water. Speaking to "Early Times" a local Rajesh Kumar said that the only road link Thal-Kwath road is under construction since last 15 years adding that it required immediate attention from the concern authorities. Kumar said that the road which has been constructed till date has suffered many damages due to snowfall and rains from time to time and no one from the administration bothers to clear the slips and repair the damaged portion of the road. He said that similar is the condition with health infrastructure as no doctor or medicines are available for the poor people of the area adding that electricity wires are hanging with trees and women had to travel several Kilometers to fetch the drinking water. He said that the RDD department even fails to construct small bridges over the local nallahs passing through the area as a result of which the poor people are facing lot of inconvenience to cross the stream by putting their lives at risk. He said that though heard that government has provided money for the construction of the road, but has no knowledge where that money has been spent. He said that the Anganwari centers are non functional, beside the condition of schools in the area is very bad. He said that there is no proper electricity in the area, but the department is regularly sending them the electricity bills.
