| Food and Allied Worker’s Union stage protest rally | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 26 To press upon the state government and concerning department to concede their long pending demands, the Food and Allied Worker’s Union staged a protest rally. A large number of workers under the banner of union today have assembled in front of Food and Supply department, Ware House held a protest demonstration and later staged a protest rally. The union is demanding the implementation of court orders, wherein it was directed to the department to revise minimum wages for loading and un-loading together with the formulation of a scheme for permanent absorption of labourers. Bishan Dass, president of the union apprised that all the labourers have become frustrated with the discriminatory attitude of the State Government. He also apprised that labourers will take to the roads in protest if their demands were not conceded. Among other demands highlighted by the union included implementation of PF, complete FCI pattern, benefit of minimum wage guarantee to all the labourers, stop to direct delivery and release of pending arrears. It is mention that the Food and Allied workers were on dharna at CAPD Directorate will continue till April 27 and would be intensified if demands will not be conceded within a short period. |
