| Khajuria denounces attitude Congress-led UPA managers | | ‘Alleges Rajbhavan converted into Congress Hqs | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 26 BJP State President Ashok Khajuria has denounced the attitude of the managers of Congress-led UPA and its allies for insulting and humiliating respectable citizens and the common people at the visit of the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in Jammu as also at the functions of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and the inauguration of Akhnoor bridge. Ashok Khajuria, in this connection, particularly referred to the taking away of the hearing aid of former MLA from Reasi and veteran political figure Rishi Kumar Koushal at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University convocation. He said it was a height of indecency to ask a veteran to attend the function without much needed hearing aid and then whispering him out of the function venue when he complained the behaviour which was extended to him. Rishi Kumar Koushal was not the sole instance, said Ashok Khajuria and added that there were some other such like incidents also which speaks volumes about the mismanagement over the visit of the Prime Minister. The BJP chief also took strong exception to restricting the movement of the citizens without any announced programme at the arrival of the Prime Minister. There was not even a single programme in the Jammu city but the whole of the city had been turned into a fort. He said that common people, especially school children and the patients have had to face several problems during the hot days. Ashok Khajuria said that the honour and dignity of the Raj Bhawan was lowered when it was converted into Congress Headquarters where the elected representatives belonging to Jammu region were given shabby treatment. The BJP Chief asked the governments headed by Congress at the centre and in the state to apologize from Rishi Kumar Koushal for giving him such a treatment. He said our society has very high and respectable place for the elders and the Congress is in habit of insulting such people who hold respectable places in the hearts of the people. |
