| Several delegations call on PM | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 26 Leaders of various political parties and social organizations along with their delegations met Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh at Raj Bhavan this morning and had separate meetings with him. The deputations which met the Prime Minister included a 10-member delegation of Congress workers led by Choudhry Lal Singh MP, 15 member delegation headed by the former Minister, Dharampal, 10-member delegation of National Conference headed by Ajay Sadhotra, MLA and 11 member deputation of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party led by Prof Bhim Singh, MLC. A 5-member delegation of All India Kashmiri Samaj headed by Shiban Dudha, General Secretary and a four member delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal, Jammu and Kashmir headed by its Working President, S Gurdev Singh also discussed their problems with the Prime Minister. A 10 member delegation of West Pakistan refugees, 2-member delegation of National Democratic Progressive Front led by Dr Ravi Jyee, 5-member delegation of Joint Forum of Victims of 1989 Riots led by its President, S Balwinder Singh Bhatia, besides a 16-member delegation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs also met the Prime Minister and listed their demands. A Gujjar delegation led by its Secretary General Ch. Shah Mohammed which also called on the Prime Minister here apprised him about various demands of the community and other tribal’s which have been pending for settlement. Among other things they demanded political reservation and rehabilitation of the migratory population. Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Minister for Water Resources, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz was also present when the Prime Minister met the delegations. |
