| PCC delegation meets PM, seek enhancement in package of PoK refugees | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 26 Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has thanked the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for announcing a relief package for various sections of the people, especially the displaced people of Kashmir, PoK and West Pakistan refugees and the militancy victims. The delegation led by the PCC Chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz met the Prime Minister here today and conveyed thanks on behalf of the party for the relief package announced by him for different categories of displaced people and militancy victims in the state. The delegation also expressed gratitude to the PM for the liberal financial assistance to the state government from time to time with the result the state has witnessed tremendous development in various sections. The PCC appreciated the working of the state government for accelerated and equitable development of all the three regions. Appreciating the relief package and various measures for the Kashmiri migrants and displaced people from PoK and West Pakistan, the delegation sought enhancement of the package for PoK displaced people besides raising of special battalions of para military forces to absorb the unemployed youth of the state. The delegation also demanded relief for the drought affected kandi belts of Kathua district and some others parts of Jammu. Those who accompanied the PCC Chief were Dharam Pal Sharma, Parduman Singh, Yash Paul Khajuria, Amrit Malhotra, GM Mir Poonchi, RS Chib, Mula Ram, G S Charak, Hari Singh, Vinod Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Arvinder Singh, Farida Mir, G L Chalotra and Dr. Manohar Lal. |
