| Two vehicles carrying bovine seized | | | Early Times Reporter Samba | Apr 26 Police today seized two vehicles carrying bovines and arrested two persons while the driver of a truck fled away. According to SSP Samba during the intervening night of April 25-26, police party Vijaypur during naka at Devak Bridge intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration NO JK08A- 9883 coming from Bari Brahmana side. The driver on seeing the naka party abandoned the vehicle and fled away. On search of the vehicle, it was found loaded with five bovines without valid documents. The vehicle was seized on the spot and a case registered under cruelty towards Animal Act. In another similar case the Police party intercepted a Tata Mobile coming from Jammu towards Kathua and on checking it was found that the vehicle was loaded with seven bovines with valid documents. The SSP said the vehicle was seized and the driver identified as Alam son of Monu Gujjar along with the conductor Makhan Din son of Lal Hussain, both residents of Balasan-de-Kho, Hiranagar, were taken into custody. On further verification it came to light that these bovines were being transported to Punjab after loading from village Seora Bishnah. Police has registered a case and took up the investigation. |
