Army sets up Internet centre for Mendhar residents

After carrying various programmes under Sadbhawna in the border areas of Poonch and Rajouri, Indian army is now focusing on introducing people to the cyber world by opening internet centers for them especially for those living in far-flung areas near LoC
14 Sector Rashtriya Rifles of Romeo Force under Operation Sadbhavana opened 'Sadbhavana Internet Centre' at Government Middle School, Jugal. The Centre was inaugurated by SDM Mendhar and the function was attended by the distinguished personnel of the area.
The facility besides other things would educate the student community in matters of education and will act as guide for getting information regarding higher studies particularly professional courses.
The facility would also provide employment related information to the student community of the area and they need not to visit Jammu for getting information.

"we are already thankful to the Indian Army which is extending every support to our children even almost all of them have been shown the external world", a local resident told NAK, adding that now with the opening of these internet centers in our area will not only help the students in getting knowledge but the study material also be available easily.
Since the internet facilities were not provided by the government in far-flung areas of Poonch and Rajouri the army's initiative will be of great help to the people of all age group who are educated.
"I must thank major sir who not only help us in getting better education but also guide us like our parents in matters of studies" a student of 10th class said adding now we can get handy information about out-side world with the help of internet.
Jammu based ministry of Defence spokesperson told News Agency of Kashmir that army has been carrying various programmes under sadbhawna and providing internet facility is one of them.
He said this step in the sphere of information technology will surely for the upliftment of youth of state and empowerment of women of far-flung areas like tehsil Mendhar of district Poonch.
