| SPG men exhibited their supremacy over senior state ministers at Raj Bhawan | | | Early Times Reporter

Several Ministers and legislators today returned from the Raj Bhawan with a fallen face as they were not let in by the SPG for meeting the Prime Minister,Dr Manmohan Singh.
Wearing well ironed dresses the Health Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma,Consumer Affairs Minister, Taj Mohiuddin, Gharu Ram, Minister of state for Housing,Dr Romesh, Minister of state for Industries, and three more congress legislators drove to the Raj Bhawan for having a close Darshan of the Prime Minister.They were stopped when when members of a congress delegation led by water Resources, Prof. Saifuddin Soz, were allowed in.After cooling his heels Mangat Ram Sharma returned with a frown on
his face but Taj Mohiuddin had a tiff with the Deputy Commissioner for not allowing him and his ministerial colleagues in.The Deputy Commissioner was not at fault because the names of the ministers and legislators had not figured in the list.The men of the SPG,who look after the security of the Prime Minister,were not prepared to go beyond the list.
The congress delegation comprised Dharam Pal Sharma,Preduman Singh,Ravinder sharma and others. Some of the ministers were dismayed by the way the Chief Minister and the PCC President had not intervened to allow them in.They simply wanted to wish the Prime Minister well and nothing beyond. |
