| Azad for awareness about public benefit schemes | | | Srinagar, August 29,- Saying that the success of public welfare schemes depends on awareness of public about such schemes, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has emphasized the need for creating common awareness among the people about benefits of schemes launched in the state for public good. Chief Minister said that all public service departments while flagging of schemes for the benefit of general masses especially aimed at employment creation in far flung rural areas, women empowerment, social welfare schemes, mothers and child welfare schemes health care schemes infrastructure schemes Bharat Nirman Programme, Rural Health Mission Programmes, National Employment Guarantee Schemes, anganwari schemes etc should launch awareness campaign about the schemes simultaneously so that people get aware of benefits. Mr. Azad inaugurating a 6-day Information Campaign Exhibition at Kishtwar today, he said various centrally sponsored schemes have been launched in the state in almost all sectors including health, education, social welfare, rural development, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Agriculture, Horticulture, Power, Road connectivity etc aimed at helping the state to achieve all round development and help provide basic amenities to the people living in rural and cut-off places. The Chief Minister said that under prestigious Bharat Nirman Project ambitions road connectivity programme has been initiated in the state to op-en up far off areas and upgrade the road connectivity system in the state. He said massive infrastructure development and power generation is under execution under the Prime Minister’s Rs 25000 crore Reconstruction Plan. He lauded Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi for providing liberal financial assistance to the Jammu and Kashmir for over all development. |
