| Third front likely to take birth within next 10 days | | | Early Times Reporter

Indications are that the proposed third Front may take birth in Jammu and Kashmir between May 7 and May 10.Two senior political leaders,Ghulam Hassan Mir,and CPIM leader,M.Y.Tarigami,are making last minte efforts for
ropig in several senior politicians,present and former legislators and prominent citizens in the front.
When contacted Ghulam Hassan Mir said that "our efforts are on and possibly the front will take shape within next 10 to 12 days."In reply to a question he said that the dialogue channels with a number of legislators and prominent political leaders had been
opened and we hope to achieve success soon."Asked whether some separatists were also being approached for supporting the front Mir said "we are exploring all the possibilities."
Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi a legislator and former minister,who heads the Democratic Freedom Forum after having parted company with Hakim Mohd.Yasin,who leads
the Peoples' Democratic Front,said that he had been approached by those trying to form the Front but "I have not yet taken any decision." He said "the question of my supporting the front will be decided when the Front took birth."Asked in case Hakim Mohd.Yasin joined the Front will he support Mir Softi said "let the picture become clearer and after that I shall announce my future programme." |
