| BJP aims at strengthening party base | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 29 The state unit of the BJP has started booth level meetings in each constituency. Explaining it BJP President, Ashok Khajuria said today that “we have selected 13 dedicated BJP workers for each booth and we interact with them suggesting them ways and means for preventing booth capturing and rigging by the rival parties.” Khajuria said that these workers were being guided in not only intensifying mass awareness campaign but also mustering voters support for the party candidates. He said that besides this party workers’ conventions were being held in each Assembly constituency.He stated that “we plan to concentrate on at least 25 seats in the Jammu region where we have potential candidates and supporters.He said “our target was to capture at least 20 Assembly seats.”In reply to a question he said that in the 2002 poll the BJP had won only one seat and it was the result internal sabotage,rigging and as a result of Jammu state Morcha’s fielding its candidates in 12 constituency.He said the situation at present was different after the Jammu State Morcha has decided not to contest the ensuing election and the BJP dissidents had been expelled from the party. |
