Udhampur, Apr 14: A large number of people under the banner of Civil Society Udhampur today took out a candle march at Gole Market Udhampur to pay rich tributes to the Kishtwar martyrs Chander Kant Sharma, Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar who were martyred by terrorists in Kishtwar.
The candle march started from Fountain Chowk and after passing Gole Market area culminated at Fountain Chowk, where tributes were paid to the Parihar brothers and Chander Kant Sharma. Social activist Vikram Slathia, Sunil Kumar, Dr Vikram Gulati, Pardeep Bakshi, Arun Gupta, Rajan Sharma. spoke on the occasion.
Lauding Parihar brothers and Chander Kant's courageous role since 1990s in raising voice against militancy and preventing migration of minorities, they said the martyrs symbolized a crusade and a cause which has gained further momentum with their killing.
Ramjet and Parvesh Parihar strongly condemned the selective killing of minority community members Anil Parihar, Ajit Parihar and Chander Kant Sharma by terrorists in broad day light and termed it total failure on the part of civil and police administration.
They said that it is quite amazing that due to laxity of police and administration situation is being created to force minority to migrate from area.

Speakers demanded crack down to nab militants involved in killings, implementation of AFSA, Strengthening of SOG, intelligence agencies, Strengthening of VDC'S, installation of CRPF bunkers and installation of CCTV at vital points of city and entry and exit points of Kishtwar.
They also demanded dignified compensation of 50 lakhs each for Kishtwar martyrs and government job for their kin so that faith among minorities could be restored.
