Punjabi Lekhak Sabha condoles the demise of Prof. Sewa Singh

JAMMU, Apr 15: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (Regd.), Jammu organized a condolence meeting to condole the demise of Prof. Sewa Singh, a senior Punjabi writer from Kashmir. He was not keeping well due to his age in nineties. He breathed his last on 13th April, 2019 in Jammu where he was staying with his son.
S. Amar Singh Kuka, acting President, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Devinder Singh Vishwanagrik, former President, PLS, Dr. Baljeet Raina, General secretary, PLS, Punjabi writers Surinder Neer, Jang S. Verman, Balwinder Singh Deep, Bikramjit Vicku, Hardeep Singh Deep and others were present in the meeting. Speaking on this occasion, S. Devinder Singh recalled the contribution of Prof. sewa Singh in the field of Punjabi literature of Kashmir. he informed that Prof. Sewa Singh was among the pemier contributors who promoted Punjabi literature in the valley and gave it a resperctful place in literary cicles. He was one among the members who started Punjabi Sahit Sabha in Kashmir and contributed his role in running the Sabha. Prof. sewa Singh has written more than a dozen of literary publications to his credit on short stories, a Novel, Safar Namas, Nibandh, Auto- biography and articles on Lok Dhara. A two minutes silence was observed to pray for the peace of the departed soul. The members prayed the Almighty for providing courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
