| Contradiction within NC depicts its political bankruptcy: Mehbooba | | | Shopian | Apr 29 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti today said that besides, landmark pro-people political and developmental initiatives pioneered by PDP, it has restored the lost credibility of mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, by implementing its agenda in letter and spirit. Addressing an impressive gathering at Shopian, she observed that her party remained consistent on what it said, forcing the exploitative politicians to run for cover. ‘The politicians who have all along been banking on dubious means for their survival are unnerved by this new political realization and their frustration is now vivid," Mufti said, adding that PDP is committed to the socio-economic and political emancipation of people of Jammu and Kashmir unlike other political parties who have adopted politics based on rhetoric and double speak. "The recent contradictory statements dished out by top National Conference had exposed the inherent contradictions within that party and also depicted the desperation and frustration that had overtaken its ranks. "While on one hand in Jammu NC Patron Dr Farooq blames PDP for having anti- national agenda like self rule, duel currency, reduction of troops, repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) opening of roads with our neighboring country Pakistan and three tier permit system, on the other hand, he calls our agenda as Delhi made. What else can be called political bankruptcy?" she asked. She said that NC's being politically bankrupt and publicly discredited lot, is clear enough by their malevolent utterances and hysterical disparage. Mufti said that PDP has resolved to pursue its agenda without bothering about the hurdles its opponents will create as its agenda is based on pro people policies. "Our march towards political stability and economic prosperity, which started under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in 2002, is an example of maintaining a striking balance between development and resolution of Kashmir problem," the PDP president said adding her party transformed the state's political and economic scenario by sticking to its pro-people agenda, despite pulls and pressures and uphold the honour and dignity of the people of the state. |
