| Bhura wins Salora Kesari title | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 29 Pahalwan Bhura of Jammu clinched the 24th Annual Salora Kesari Dangal title beating Sunil Kumar of Hoshiarpur in Punjab in the main bout played at Salora near Jajjar Kotli on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The winner was given away a cash prize of Rs 3500 while runners-up Sunil bagged Rs 3000 as cash prize by the chief guest, former Minister, Ajatshatru Singh, who was accompanied by president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. In all, 47 bouts took place in the day-long dangal which was organized by Salora Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. The second main bout was won by Jakker Hussain beating Dana of Ajnala while Baldev Singh (Sonu) of Himachal Pradesh claimed the third bout outplaying Happy of Dera Baba Nanak in an interesting bout. Qasim Din emerged winner in fourth main bout beating Sucha of Taran Taran. In the fifth bout, Onkar Singh of BSF Jammu held Sukhwant of Amritsar to a draw. Other results: Gojari bt Pappu; Kaka bt Bittu; Akram bt Lalli; Ali bt Jagdish; Mohd Akram bt Bagh; Mulkh Raj bt Shamsher Singh; Ali bt Bijali; Kashmira bt Parveen; Lalli Mohd Akram bt Disha; Kant bt Kulwant; Mukha bt KUldeep and Ajeeta bt Raja. Speaking to the big gathering of wrestling lovers, Shiv Kumar Sharma complimented the Salora Dangal Committee for hosting the mega event thus providing a source of entertainment to the rural masses and a chance to excel to the wrestlers. Dangal was officiated by Pappu Lakri, Mohd Fareed, Capt. Lehar Singh, Chuni Lal Ramotra; Rajinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Isher Dass, Swarn Singh, Sain Mohd, Ahmed Din, Ashok Kumar and Soni Sharma. |
