Tank driver and cleaners hold annual function

All J&K oil tank driver and cleaners union held annual ritual function with the culmination of Shri Akhand Path bhog ceremony Ragi Jathas recited the gurbani and various preachers stressed on to follow a noble path of living a truthful life and help the needy person. The function was attended by all irrespective of class, religion and Sect.
T.S. Wazir, MLC was also present in the function Ranjit Singh and Davinder Singh President and General Secretary of the union respectively honoured him with a Saropa and also presented a memorandum of Union’s demands which includes payment of minimum wages to driver and cleaners as per wage act, arrangement for parking of oil tankers at Srinagar and Jammu and illegal charging of entry fee in notified area committees from drivers. Since transportation of oil is a govt duty hence payment of entry fee to notified area committees has no logic. T.S Wazir heard the demands patiently and assured them for a logical settlement.
